Does submitting my profile cost money?

Nope! It’s free. We're aiming to fill a critical gap in the civic engagement and social impact landscape – and we want to ensure access to all those who could benefit from a service like this as you search for your next job.

Is this talent pool only for the skill sets you’ve listed on your homepage?

Yes, indeed. For now, we’re expressly recruiting for the skill sets we’ve highlighted, in direct response to the current needs of our hiring partners. If your skill set isn’t listed, then we don’t have current open roles with which we can match you. That said, if you don’t have an applicable skill set but are keen to switch into the social impact space, we’re still rooting for you and would encourage you to make the jump! Check back in with us down the road; it’s possible we’ll expand to matchmake for different types of professional talent later on.

What happens after I submit my profile?

You’ll join a pool of talent comprised of other people looking to join the social impact space. At that point, many hiring organizations with whom we’ve partnered will have access to your resume, and if they like what they see, they can request an introduction from us. Separately, our own recruitment managers will be working to proactively flag your profile with hiring organizations for open roles that seem particularly suited to your skill set. If a hiring partner requests an introduction, we will connect you with them over email so that they can share more about the particular opportunity. You’ll only hear from us about specific jobs if one of our hiring partners has proactively requested the introduction.

Can I directly apply to jobs through your jobs board?

Definitely! In fact, we strongly encourage it. If you see a role on the jobs board that piques your interest, apply directly. You are not obligated to wait for an introduction before applying to an organization’s posted role. And be sure to check out the “search jobs” tab toward the top of the jobs board; this showcases the most recently added roles, and you can also search by specific keywords. See here:

However, we’d still strongly encourage you to submit your resume to us first; this enables us to look for possible matchmaking opportunities in parallel that you may not have seen yourself and to pitch you for specific roles.

What are the benefits to adding my resume to the All Hands talent pool?

Once you join the All Hands network, we’ll be equipped to proactively look for opportunities to matchmake you with our hiring partners wherever we see a fit. Additionally, we’ll invite you to our Slack community, where we occasionally share information about free events, trainings, best practices, and other tips that could come in handy as you look for your next big opportunity. Join us!

I’m already in the All Hands talent pool, but I’d like to share my updated resume. How do I do that?

Excellent! It’s helpful for us to have your latest resume on file. You can simply drop your resume on our homepage again, like you did last time. If you’re already in our system, it will be merged with your previous profile, and your new resume will be included.

I found a job! I’m no longer looking for a role. How do I update my status?

Congratulations! You can go ahead and complete this short hiring status survey, or you can let us know on our Contact Us page. We’d love to hear where you landed, if you’re willing to share!

How do you filter and select potential hiring organizations? With whom do you partner, and what are the criteria?

In setting up this service, we've been driven by our overarching goal to benefit the social impact and civic engagement space as a whole. This comes in many forms, but generally speaking, we're looking to place folks with organizations that engage in civic engagement, social impact, campaigning, or advocacy work around progressive issues. In an effort to create the most impact, we work with lots of different types of entities: companies, 501c3s, 501c4s, labor unions, political campaigns, committees, and beyond.

If I’m looking for visa sponsorship, am I still eligible?

You are absolutely still welcome to submit your information! Hiring organizations consider this on a case-by-case basis, but this is by no means disqualifying from joining our pool of interested candidates.
